14 Weeks Gestation & Gender Reveal

We received the NIPT Harmony test results last week. Chromosomal results showed a less than 1 in 10,000 risk, meaning our baby is unlikely to have down syndrome, trisomy 13, or 18. So a healthy baby!! yay!

And the test was able to determine the gender!!

Right before the call Lee asked me "what are the chromosomes for boys and girls again?" Which made me giggle.... but good thing he asked since that is exactly how they revealed to us that we're having a baby..... BOY!!!  He seriously almost passed out and had to lay on the floor for almost 10 minutes. I think its just really starting to feel REAL to him.

Friday night was the first night of Passover, Heather and her wife Stephanie joined us for Seder at Lee's parent's house. We do it casual with a 1970's children's coloring book Haggadah (book of stories and information we read before dinner)....and we skip half the pages, so I wasn't concerned with it being "too much" for them. The day before I did sent them an FAQ so they wouldn't be completely blindsided, things like "don't eat anything on the table until you see someone else eat it" because there are several ceremonial foods on the table we don't eat, and "Yes some is in Hebrew but there are transliterations right under it in English, so if its your turn to read just sound it out with some added phlegm and you'll be fine."

For some reason all four of us were nervous in the beginning, but after a few minutes everyone was fine and joking like we've been family forever.

At one point Lee's mom was thanking Heather for carrying her "grandchild" and Lee and I corrected her and said "grandson" and her face was priceless!! Then she said "oooh I get to plan a Bris now!"

Here is a video we posted on Facebook with clips of our journey up to this point. Enjoy!
