We put away the yoga ball last week. That ball was our life line. We used it every day. Sometimes hours a day the first several months to get our munchkin to just f'n fall asleep. I logged Fitbit steps with each bounce... but dammit they still counted. We took it on vacations with us, even bought grandma one to use. We seriously would not have survived without it.
So why did we put it away? Did he magically become a good sleeper?
No. After over 16 months it simply doesn't do the trick anymore. He's on to us now. So now we have to constantly come up with new tricks. Nursing to sleep no longer works, he would easily nurse for hours then sit up wide awake ready for a midnight party! Currently we're logging actual Fitbit steps each night wearing him and jogging (yes actual jogging) around the house humming to him. What will next weeks trick be? Your guess is as good as ours, but I'm sure we'll figure it out. We'll do whatever it takes to make him happy and know he's safe and I'm there for him even if that means we stay awake while he sleeps to snuggle him close a little bit longer.
Now that our triangle family is complete, follow along as we live our "life after infertility." Our travels, our joys, our laughter & our sorrows of parenting.
